What it costs . . .

Our fees are given here in South African Rands (ZAR).
If you are located outside South Africa, our rates in US dollars can be found here.

For longer documents, you can choose between a "per word" rate
and a "per hour" rate. Let us know which rate you'd prefer.

Fees
Service	Fee
1. Proofreading Checking and correcting typing errors, spelling and other basic input mistakes *
Documents of 500 words or less (adverts, fliers, leaflets, notices, posters, etc)	R90 per item
Documents of more than 500 words (articles, letters, proposal documents, speeches, dissertations, book manuscripts, etc)	R120 plus R20 per 400 words OR R200 per hour (you choose)
Web pages	R50 per HTML document plus R20 per 400 words
2. Copyediting Proof-reading + checking text for grammar, clarity, idiomatic English, etc *
Documents of 500 words or less (adverts, fliers, leaflets, notices, posters, etc)	R120 per item
Documents of more than 500 words (articles, letters, proposal documents, speeches, dissertations, book typescripts, etc)	R150 plus R35.00 per 400 words OR R250 per hour (you choose)
Web pages	R75 per HTML document plus R35 per 400 words
* We reserve the right to set higher fees for documents that need a lot of extra work, such as substantial correcting or re-writing. In such cases we'll negotiate this with you before you commit yourself to using our services.

And here's the fine print . . .

1. The above rates apply when you send (and we return) your material by e-mail, or when you deliver and collect your material yourself. We'll add cost-recovering charges to the invoice if we must collect it, or if we must return it to you by mail, fax, courier, or in person. If we need to print or photocopy your document in order to work with it, we'll add a charge of R2.00 per page of hard copy to the invoice.
2. If you require immediate and urgent attention to your document, we reserve the right to add a 50% surcharge to the normal rate.
3. When you get our invoice, please pay by direct deposit into our South African bank account, or by foreign bank draft. Contact us for more information.
4. We reserve the right to change our rates, should increased costs or other factors make that necessary. This page will always reflect our current rates. Refer to the "Last updated" tag below.
